Ukraine's Government Locks in Electricity Rates Through 2026.
Electricity Tariffs Effective March 1, 2026
According to Novyny.live: The Ukrainian government has approved a measure to freeze household electricity prices. From March 1, 2026, the standard rate will remain fixed at UAH 4.32 per kilowatt-hour until April 30, 2026. This price stability is significant for a nation rebuilding its economy and infrastructure.
Subsidized Rates for Households with Electric Heating
A subsidized rate of UAH 2.64 per kWh will apply to households using electricity for heating, for monthly consumption up to 2,000 kWh. Consumption exceeding this limit will be billed at the standard rate of UAH 4.32 per kWh. This structure is designed to provide relief on energy bills for heating-dependent homes.
Households with two-zone meters can utilize a night tariff of UAH 2.16 per kWh. For those with three-zone meters, rates will vary according to the time of day:
- Night period (23:00 to 07:00) - UAH 1.73 per kWh.
- Day period (07:00 to 08:00, 11:00 to 20:00, and 22:00 to 23:00) - UAH 4.32 per kWh.
- Peak period (08:00 to 11:00 and 20:00 to 22:00) - UAH 6.48 per kWh.
These new tariffs, effective from March 1, 2026, will maintain the existing pricing framework, ensuring predictability for Ukrainian electricity consumers.
This government decision to hold electricity tariffs steady will allow consumers to plan their energy expenses amidst broader economic uncertainty.
The preferential tariffs for electrically heated households may encourage the adoption of electric heating systems, representing a step toward more environmentally friendly energy sources. Maintaining stable rates can also help mitigate social strain for a population facing numerous economic challenges.
