Government Unveils New Business Aid Package: Grants and Zero-Interest Loans.
New Support for Entrepreneurs Amidst Energy Crisis
According to Novyny.live: In response to the ongoing energy crisis, the government has announced a new aid package for businesses, featuring one-time grants and zero-interest loans. Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko stated that this initiative is designed to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) currently facing severe operational challenges. This move comes as businesses across Ukraine grapple with the economic fallout from the war.
Financial Grants and Loan Details
Eligible entrepreneurs can receive a one-time financial grant ranging from 7,500 to 15,000 hryvnias. The grant amount depends on the number of employees, with a minimum requirement of at least one hired worker. Furthermore, businesses will have access to loans for purchasing energy equipment, with a maximum loan amount of up to 10 million hryvnias. These loans are offered at 0% interest for a term of up to 3 years, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on companies.
Yuliia Svyrydenko clarified that the state will cover the funding difference through the Entrepreneurship Development Fund.
Loans are being provided by nearly 50 partner banks of the government's "5-7-9%" program, also for terms of up to 3 years. This initiative represents a critical step in supporting Ukraine's weakened business sector, which is vital for national resilience and recovery.
The new support program is a direct response to the challenges businesses face due to the energy crisis. Rising energy costs and other pressures threaten the survival of many SMEs, and these new financial tools are intended to help prevent widespread bankruptcies.
By involving a wide network of financial institutions, the program significantly improves resource accessibility for entrepreneurs, which could positively impact the broader economic recovery in the country.
