Ukraine Allocates 281 Million Hryvnias to Energy Workers: 20,000 Each for 14,000 Specialists.
Government Budget Support for Power Sector Repair Teams
According to Novyny.live: A total of 281.3 million hryvnias has been set aside by the Ukrainian government to aid emergency repair crews working to restore electricity after Russian strikes. The funding will be split among 14,000 workers, with each receiving 20,000 hryvnias. Of this amount, 190.7 million hryvnias is earmarked specifically for Ukrainian energy personnel.
In January 2026, the Ministry of Energy had already disbursed nearly 152 million hryvnias to roughly 8,000 crew members. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal,
“the state values the heroic professional work of energy workers and specialists from other critical services.”Assistance from the Ministry of Energy will cover over 9,500 people for the month of February.
The next tranche of aid is scheduled to be paid for work completed in March. These efforts highlight the importance of backing energy workers who carry out essential tasks amid the country’s challenging circumstances.
This funding allocation underscores government efforts to maintain the stability of Ukraine’s energy grid in the face of ongoing threats. Supporting these employees is crucial for rapidly rebuilding infrastructure and ensuring power supply for both households and industry. Continued financing reflects the critical need for staffing in the energy sector, especially during wartime.
