Up to 1,000 UAH Monthly: Ukraine Launches Fuel Cashback Program for Citizens.
Fuel Cashback Initiative Announced
According to Novyny.live: Starting March 20, 2023, the Ukrainian government is rolling out a new program called 'Fuel Cashback,' designed to give consumers partial refunds on purchases at participating gas stations. Depending on the fuel type, cashback rates will range from 5% to 15%.
Program Details and Conditions
The initiative will run until May 1, 2023, with a monthly cap of 1,000 UAH per participant. The specific compensation percentages are as follows:
- 15% for diesel
- 10% for gasoline
- 5% for autogas
This translates to savings of 2 to 11 UAH per liter of fuel for consumers.
Refunds are automatically processed when payments are made by card through the 'National Cashback' system. A full list of participating gas stations will be available on the project's official channels. Cashback earnings can be used to pay for utilities, medicine, Ukrainian-made goods, books, postal services, or to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The Fuel Cashback program is designed for Ukrainians,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
The program aims to ease the financial burden on consumers amid current economic challenges while encouraging fuel purchases at participating stations. Given rising energy costs, this initiative also promotes the use of legal gas stations, which can benefit the broader economy. With a limited window until May 1, 2023, its success will hinge on active engagement from both consumers and fuel retailers.
