The government is changing the heating and subsidy rules: what to expect for Ukrainians.
According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a decision regarding the start and end of the heating season for 2025-2026. It is known that heating will only be launched when there is a stable drop in temperature. This will allow for more efficient conservation of energy resources. In addition, changes will also concern the provision of housing subsidies — they will be calculated based on income received in the first two quarters of 2025.
«This effectively means that local authorities will be able to turn on heating only in case of a stable drop in temperature, and Ukrainians will have to wait longer for the start of heat supply»
Submitting applications for subsidies
Do not forget that applications for receiving subsidies can be submitted from October 1 to November 30. If you submit an application during this period, payments will start from the beginning of the heating season. So the sooner you apply, the faster you will receive support.
Adaptation to new conditions
Ukraine continues to adapt to the new conditions of the heating season and is improving its subsidy provision processes, focusing efforts on heat conservation and optimization of social assistance.
These changes reflect the commitment of the Ukrainian authorities to maximize the effective use of energy resources in the face of global challenges. The implementation of new subsidy provision rules also aims to ensure social justice and support the most vulnerable segments of the population.
