Zelenskyy Confirms Strike on 'Boykiy' Corvette at Kronstadt Naval Base.
Strike on the 'Boykiy' Warship
According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine has confirmed a successful attack on the 'Boykiy' vessel stationed in Kronstadt. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported the outcomes of Ukrainian operations targeting oil terminals in St. Petersburg, noting that
“purely military objectives at the Kronstadt base were also achieved.”
The 'Boykiy' is a Project 20380 corvette and the third such ship in Russia's Baltic Fleet. Launched in 2011 and commissioned in 2013, it was scheduled for repairs beginning in February 2026. The assault on St. Petersburg took place on June 3. This incident highlights Ukraine's expanding reach into Russian naval strongholds far from the front lines.
Ukrainian Defense Forces in Action
Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert 'Madyar' Brovdi, also verified the effectiveness of these strikes, underscoring the active role of Ukrainian defense forces in the area. The situation surrounding the 'Boykiy' and Ukraine's military operations continues to draw close attention from the international community.
These developments confirm the ongoing hostilities between Ukraine and Russia, particularly in the Black Sea and Baltic regions. The damage to the 'Boykiy' could shift the regional balance of power, as it demonstrates Ukraine's ability to hit enemy military assets. With repairs already on the horizon, maritime security dynamics may evolve in the near term, warranting careful monitoring by global observers.
