Ukraine-Ireland Talks: A New Support Package

According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin held discussions addressing key issues such as support for Ukraine, Russian terrorist attacks, European integration, and sanctions against Russia. As a result, the Irish leader announced a fresh €125 million aid package for Ukraine, of which €100 million is specifically designated to bolster the country’s defense capabilities. This announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by the European Union to tighten measures against Moscow.

Ireland’s Continued Commitment

Martin emphasized that Ireland will persist in its efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Ireland’s backing, stating:

“I am grateful to every leader and every European country for this,” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Ireland assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of Europe on July 1, 2026, a role it will hold until the end of the year. During this term, the country plans to continue advancing support for Ukraine and reinforcing international sanctions against the aggressor.
