The new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatiy, announced a strategy for transforming the military unit. It entails significant changes in training, technological equipment, and personnel management.

The foundation of the strategy consists of three key areas: prioritizing the human factor, technological modernization, and transparent management.

"It is necessary to implement a new model of training for military personnel, which will be faster, but more effective, based on practical skills, modern teaching methods, and principles of military leadership," noted Mykhailo Drapatiy.

One of the important elements of the transformation will be the reform of the recruitment system with an emphasis on transparency and zero tolerance for corruption. Comprehensive social support for military personnel will also be provided at all stages—from recruitment to further employment.

The technological component of the strategy involves transforming the Ground Forces into a highly adaptive, flexible, and technological structure. Mykhailo Drapatiy plans to collaborate closely with the General Staff, the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, volunteer organizations, and foundations.

Significant attention is also being paid to digitalization and organizational changes to optimize management processes. The main goal is to maximize the efficiency of the officer corps' Time, reduce bureaucratic procedures, and increase the mobility of units.

Creating the Army of the Future

The main idea of Mykhailo Drapatiy is to create an army that is capable of not only effectively dealing with modern challenges but also anticipating potential threats. This strategy has received support from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and involves sequential and systemic changes.

"We must finish our task with a double victory—over the enemy and over the systemic constraints that hinder the transformation of the military," emphasized Mykhailo Drapatiy.

Let us recall that President Zelensky appointed Mykhailo Drapatiy as the new commander of the Ground Forces and also confirmed the appointment of the Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
