In Ukraine, car sales rules have changed radically: what drivers need to know.
Advantages of selling cars through the 'Diia' app
Automotive market expert Yevgeny Ermolov talked about the new car sales system through the 'Diia' app and its advantages. Now, purchasing or selling can be done without visiting service centers and just by using a few button presses.
'You can now register cars through 'Diia' without visiting service centers. I recently sold my car through the app - the process was incredibly easy,' Ermolov shared his personal experience.
According to the expert, the selling procedure has been maximally simplified. The seller and the buyer meet, sign a contract, after which they enter it into the app. The vehicle registration certificate automatically passes to the new owner. The main condition for using this option is the presence of a verified address in 'Diia'.
If the seller or buyer is a displaced person, difficulties may arise, and then they need to contact the MIA service center. There is also an option to change license plates. New numbers are sent by new mail.
If someone prefers registration at the service center, the procedure is also simplified. The expert assessment of the vehicle, which was previously necessary, has been canceled. The cost of re-registration is approximately one thousand hryvnias.
Ermolov emphasizes that there is no need to contact a notary to register the purchase and sale agreement: 'A notary is only needed for issuing a power of attorney. Of course, you can have him draft a purchase and sale agreement to avoid doing it at the service center, but what is the sense in that? It's better to do everything in one place.'
The expert concludes that vehicle registration is one of the few areas where huge progress has been made due to digitalization. 'Ukraine has made a huge step forward', Ermolov summarizes.
This new service allows Ukrainians to significantly simplify the process of buying and selling cars and reduce document processing Time.
