Toll roads may appear in Ukraine: regions and prices have been named.
Ukrainians are actively discussing the issue of making roads toll and the cost of travel. According to 'Khvili', the Ministry of Regional Development plans to make six sections of roads toll, with a total length of 1400 km. Among them are the roads from Boryspil to Poltava, from Kyiv to Rivne, from Dnipro to Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv, the Yagodin-Kovel-Lutsk route, Kharkiv-Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia, and the road from Kherson to Mykolaiv.
Former Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Viktor Dovhan believes that there are still 5-10 sections that can be made toll roads. These include the new bridge in Kremenchuk, the future Big Ring Road in Kyiv, and the road from Krakovets to Lviv. It is also worth considering the combination of the Zhytomyr and Odesa highways.
Transport modeling expert Dmytro Bespalov spoke about the cost of toll roads. He claims that the price will be determined by the operator, taking into account the transport demand, but not exceeding the maximum tariff set by the Cabinet of Ministers. The operator may be 'Ukravtodor' or another party that owns the roads. However, there is currently no mention of toll roads for private cars, only for trucks.
Thus, everyone will be able to have access to information about toll roads and their costs in the future.
