Prices for popular vegetables in Ukraine have changed dramatically: how much tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers cost.
In February, prices for some vegetables changed in Ukraine. This was reported by the Minfin portal.
Despite the winter season, Ukrainians continue to buy fresh vegetables. Even at the current prices, buyers are actively purchasing tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers for their dishes. Fresh vegetables are an important part of the diet for many families who adhere to healthy eating despite the cold weather.
According to price monitoring in large retail chains, in February 2025, a mixed dynamic of popular vegetable prices is observed compared to January.
In particular, prices for tomatoes have dropped significantly: red ones decreased from 123.91 to 96.45 UAH/kg, pink ones from 158.74 to 115.90 UAH/kg, and the 'plum' variety from 141.93 to 105.75 UAH/kg.
Prices for cucumbers have hardly changed: regular cucumbers slightly fell in price from 115.78 to 114.90 UAH/kg, smooth cucumbers from 151.50 to 143.70 UAH/kg. Short-fruited cucumbers became cheaper from 121.61 to 109.90 UAH/kg.
Prices for bell peppers remained practically unchanged: yellow bell peppers cost on average 252.03 UAH/kg.
