• Buckwheat: from 33.02 UAH per kilogram to 52.46 UAH per kilogram
• Apples: from 31.46 UAH per kilogram to 45.78 UAH
• Tomatoes: from 123.91 UAH per kilogram to 167.42 UAH
• Carrots: from 36 UAH down to 14.92 UAH (a 60% drop)

Analysts point out that price increases are not solely due to seasonal shifts; speculative factors also play a role.

Market analyst Rostyslav Korobka explains: 'There are also speculative elements at play, where sellers held back stock and are now releasing it at higher prices.'

These trends are causing concern among consumers, who are facing difficulties when shopping for groceries. The National Bank of Ukraine forecasts consumer inflation at 7.5–7.6% for 2026, which is expected to further drive up food prices. This will add to the challenges facing Ukrainian households already grappling with rising costs.
