In Ukraine, the fight against spam calls has been implemented: what has changed.
New mobile communication rules in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Starting from October 2, 2023, new mobile communication rules have been implemented in Ukraine aimed at combating spam calls and intrusive advertising. Mobile operators have been given the ability to block suspicious calls, and subscribers can complain about annoying numbers. This was reported by 'Glavkom', citing the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 761.
Fighting telephone spam
The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 761, adopted on June 25, has come into force in Ukraine, changing the rules for providing electronic communication services. These innovations aim to significantly reduce the amount of telephone spam.
- Companies must enter into agreements with the operator and use only registered numbers.
- Calls from unregistered numbers will be considered spam and will be automatically blocked.
Subscribers can also help in the fight against spam. In case of receiving an intrusive call, the user can file a complaint to the operator, and after confirmation, the number will be blocked.
Benefits for residents of combat zones
For subscribers living in combat zones, specific benefits are provided. Their SIM cards will not be blocked even in case of debt, and new users will be able to receive a free service package upon their first connection.
Thus, the government aims to ensure access to mobile communication for residents of frontline areas while reducing the number of spam calls.
It should be noted that 'Kyivstar' has announced another increase in tariffs for subscribers on prepaid plans and contract packages. The changes are due to rising prices for electricity, fuel, as well as inflationary processes and currency fluctuations. The operator assures that despite the challenges of wartime, it continues to invest in the support and restoration of the network.
The introduction of new mobile communication rules in Ukraine will allow effective combat against spam calls and excessive advertising by blocking suspicious calls. Benefits for subscribers in combat zones also provide them with stable access to communication in difficult conditions.
