Ukrzaliznytsia explained why trains do not stop even during shelling.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that even during shelling, trains cannot be stopped as railway communication has important strategic significance for the transportation of people and goods. According to the company's passenger communications manager Oleksandr Shevchenko, the continuation of train movement under any conditions, including in wartime, is very important.
Shevchenko emphasized that the railway is considered a single ecosystem, where stopping even one train can significantly impact the operation of the entire transport hub. He also mentioned that carriages are more resilient to hits than other objects, and highlighted that Ukrzaliznytsia ensures constant monitoring and cooperation with the military to ensure passenger safety.
The Ukrainian railway continues to move trains even during shelling, as railway transport plays an important role in transporting people and goods. The company emphasizes that the uninterrupted movement of trains is critically important under any conditions, including military actions. It is also noted that the railway system is considered a key link in the transport sector, so stopping trains can significantly complicate the operation of the entire transport hub.
Rail transport, capable of carrying a significant number of passengers and goods, is an important element of the country's infrastructure, and continuing to operate in challenging conditions confirms the importance of the continuous functioning of the railway for the public and the economy as a whole.
