Assets of Timoshenko's Husband Seized by Ukraine's Anti-Corruption Court.
Asset Seizure Targets Timoshenko's Husband
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has frozen property belonging to the husband of former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko, along with other assets, but did not seize funds from her personal accounts. The judge partially granted the prosecutor's request, imposing restrictions on the following items:
- 40 thousand dollars
- 6,300 dollars
- Six mobile phones
- Timoshenko's husband's automobiles
- Two garages in Dnipro
- A computer system unit and draft notes
On January 21, 2023, the court refused to freeze Yulia Timoshenko's own funds. This followed earlier events where, on January 14, 2023, Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) served her with a notice of suspicion for allegedly offering unlawful benefits to elected officials. Subsequently, on January 16, 2023, the HACC set a bail amount of 33 million hryvnias as a preventive measure for Timoshenko.
