Russians have lost 10 thousand fighters in Zaporizhzhia: how the front line has changed.
According to ТСН: The pace of Russian troops' advance has significantly slowed down to approximately 7 square kilometers per day. The enemy is forced to build up its reserves since the rate of elimination of the invaders by the Ukrainian Defense Forces exceeds their recovery pace.
According to Dmitry Zhmaylo, executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, the number of Russian military personnel in Ukraine is about 709-712 thousand people. Russia has launched a new wave of mobilization, involving over 400 thousand contractors, but this has not led to significant results on the front.
The enemy has suffered significant losses, especially in the southern directions.
“In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the armed forces of Ukraine have 'grinded' 10 thousand invaders,” Zhmaylo emphasized.
Russian failure near Kupiansk and defense of Pokrovsk
The expert also noted that Russian units were unable to carry out their strategic operation in the Kupiansk direction (Kharkiv region). Ukrainian forces conducted successful counterattacks, greatly strengthening Ukraine's negotiation position.
The situation in Donetsk remains complicated. In the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration, the enemy has somewhat stalled, although Ukrainian soldiers are forced to hold their defense in extremely difficult conditions. Due to failures in these directions, the Kremlin decided to increase pressure on other sections of the front.
Huliaipole: a 'meat grinder' and Putin's lies
Zhmaylo also pointed out the situation in Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region. The Russians managed to achieve progress at the initial stage, forcing the Ukrainian troops to rearrange the front line. To stop the enemy, assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were quickly relocated to the area.
Currently, Huliaipole has turned into a large 'gray' zone. The city is divided into sectors: the Armed Forces of Ukraine hold their positions and conduct clean-ups, while Russian troops attempt to 'spread' throughout the city.
“There is a large meat grinder going on there. The Russians have somewhat gotten stuck in this. Huliaipole was chosen by Putin to strengthen his diplomatic position when he appeared in military uniform and reported that the city was already taken,” the expert concluded.
The real situation confirms that the Kremlin's statements about complete control over the city are yet another fake.
It should be noted that earlier, retired major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hetman reported that the dictator of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin set a deadline for the occupiers by February. Now the enemy has new timelines for capturing Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk, as well as Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The situation on the battlefield remains dynamic, and further confirmations of information from the front only emphasize the seriousness of the moment for both sides. With the beginning of the new year, an intensification of hostilities can be expected, especially given the deadlines set by the Russian leadership.
