Changes in Latin America

According to ТСН: The Republican Party in the United States emphasized that events in Venezuela open new horizons for changing the situation in Latin America.

The next countries in line

American Republican senator Rick Scott noted that among the countries that could be next for 'restoring order' by the United States are:

“I am so proud of what President, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, and all our military, Maria Corina Machado, did in Venezuela; it will change Latin America. This is the beginning of change in Venezuela, then we will fix Cuba, Nicaragua will be fixed, and next year we will have a new president of Colombia. Democracy is returning to this hemisphere,” Scott stated.

The future of Cuba and Nicaragua

Previously, Senator Lindsey Graham also expressed the opinion that the communist dictatorship in Cuba is doomed to fall due to the change of power in Venezuela. In his view, the loss of Venezuelan oil and increasing pressure from Washington make regime change in Havana a matter of time.

Doctrina Monroe

The U.S. State Department recently proclaimed the Western Hemisphere as an exclusive zone of its influence, warning against the creation of military bases by adversaries. This strategy was characterized by President Trump as the “Monroe Doctrine,” which is a significant update of the historical Monroe Doctrine (“America for Americans”). Against the backdrop of the trial of Maduro in New York, Rubio and the White House emphasized that American dominance in the region is no longer in doubt, and any attempts by competitors to interfere in the affairs of the hemisphere will be harshly suppressed.

In the context of the intensification of American policy in Latin America, it is worth noting that these events may significantly affect regional dynamics. Further steps by the United States in countries like Cuba and Nicaragua could lead to significant changes not only in political life but also in the socio-economic sphere, reflecting the growing U.S. interest in stability in this strategically important region.
