Vance: The US expects breakthroughs in the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
According to ТСН: US Vice President Jay D. Vance expressed hope for new developments in the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that although an agreement has yet to be reached, Washington is hopeful for 'good news' in the near future.
The Situation with the Negotiations
'The Russian-Ukrainian war has been a constant source of frustration for the entire White House. We truly thought this would be the easiest conflict to resolve,' Vance said. He also emphasized that no one in the administration expected that achieving progress in the Middle East would be easier than in Eastern Europe.
Against the backdrop of difficulties, the Vice President noted that the United States has made 'significant progress' in the negotiations, hinting at possible positive changes.
'We are not yet at the finish line, but I think there is hope. And perhaps in the next few weeks, there will be good news in this regard,' he said.
Negotiations with the American Side
His statement came amid active contacts between the Ukrainian and American sides, particularly in connection with preparations for new rounds of negotiations.
Earlier, the President's Office reported that in Florida, Rustem Umerov and Andriy Hnatov would meet with representatives of the American side.
This news is a sign of increased international efforts to find pathways to peace. The continuing dialogue between Ukraine and the US, as well as the anticipation of new statements from Vice President Vance, underscore the importance of international support in resolving the conflict. Hopes for positive outcomes may provide a fresh impetus for further negotiations in the near future.
