The Ukrainian government remains legitimate even after the five-year term has ended. Expert in constitutional law from the Center for Political and Legal Reforms Andriy Magear stated this during the 'Kyiv Time' program.
Legitimacy of Ukraine's Power
'Both the Verkhovna Rada and the President of Ukraine, as well as all representative local authorities, are legitimate in Ukraine and remain so after the expiration of the five-year term,' Magear said.
The expert emphasized that any other interpretation of this norm serves to support Russian propaganda during the war.
Deputy Head of the CEC Serhiy Dubovyk noted that currently it is impossible to conduct elections in an online format in Ukraine. He also pointed out that legislation does not allow voting during a state of war.
When discussing the legitimacy of the Ukrainian government, it is important to consider constitutional norms and the context of confirmed facts. The arguments of experts emphasize the necessity of adhering to the law and avoiding manipulations in the political sphere.Read also
