Explosion in military train in Kyiv region: consequences and train movement status.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported on the status of the elimination of the consequences of the explosion that occurred in a military train in the Kyiv region at 15:00. The incident took place on the night of September 14 on the railway section Boyarka-Vasylkiv due to a detonation in the train carriage.
According to her, there are no casualties. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) and Ukrzaliznytsia are actively working to eliminate the consequences and restore the movement of passenger trains by the evening.
Cleaning the explosion site
Svyrydenko reported that all elements of the damaged rolling stock have already been completely removed. Explosives specialists further checked the cleaned areas, while preparation is underway for laying new rails to replace the damaged ones.
The train that was at the explosion site was initially delayed by 4 hours, but the delay time has now been reduced to one hour. Ukrzaliznytsia simplified control in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Polish border guard service to ensure the connection of passenger transport.
Changes in train movement
At the moment, 28 trains are following altered routes with delays of 1.5 to 3 hours. The movement of suburban trains to Fastiv is restricted, but 'shuttle' trains have been launched on the Kyiv-Boyarka section to the nearest stop. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration has organized additional bus routes on these routes.
The investigation into the causes of the incident is ongoing. More details about this will be reported later by law enforcement agencies, noted the Prime Minister.
As a result of the explosion in the military train in the Kyiv region, no one was injured, although there were delays and changes in the movement of trains. The elimination of consequences is progressing quickly, and communication between cities is being restored promptly.
This situation highlights the importance of rapid response in emergency situations. The joint efforts of the SES and Ukrzaliznytsia demonstrate the readiness to eliminate the consequences of such incidents to ensure the safe and convenient transportation of passengers.
