Freezers: Zelensky responded to Putin's proposal for a strike on Kyiv 'Oreshnik'.
The President of Ukraine sharply reacted to Putin's proposal regarding an experiment with anti-aircraft defense over Kyiv, calling the Kremlin leader inadequate.
The statement came at a press conference in Brussels.
'The comrade from the Kremlin suggested a 'technological duel'... Putin says they will strike, for example, Kyiv with 'Oreshnik', and Ukraine's Western partners should provide air defense, and let's see what happens. Do you consider this an adequate person? Just a freezer', - stated Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to Ukrinform, the incident occurred after the leader of the aggressor country during a live line on December 19 proposed to conduct a 'technological experiment': Western countries and Ukraine should identify an object in Kyiv that Russia would strike with 'Oreshnik', and air defense and missile defense systems would try to intercept it.
Touching on the topic of a ceasefire, the President of Ukraine emphasized the impossibility of existing in conditions of a frozen conflict. 'When it comes to a ceasefire in any conflict, any war - people know what will happen next, how it will all end', - noted Zelensky at a press conference in Brussels, adding the necessity of understanding the prospects: 'We need to know what will happen tomorrow in order to have a ceasefire today.'
Zelensky also called on Europe for unity in negotiations for peace in Ukraine.
