Germany must immediately provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles: sharp appeal from the Vice President of the Bundestag.
According to ТСН: The Vice President of the German Bundestag, Omid Nouripour, a representative of the Green Party, urged the German government not to hesitate and provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus cruise missiles.
During an interview for n-tv, he emphasized that diplomatic support alone cannot stop aggression, and delays in delivering weapons lead to new victims.
Call to Leaders
Nouripour also mentioned Friedrich Merz, stating that his ambitions for leadership in the country must be backed by concrete actions. He reminded that earlier, while in opposition, Merz actively advocated for providing Ukraine with strategic weapons.
“It is good that Chancellor Merz aspires to a leadership role for Germany. Now he must adhere to what he justly demanded in opposition and open the way for Taurus supplies,” said the Vice President of the Bundestag.
Impact on Security
Omid Nouripour believes that the refusal to supply cruise missiles negatively impacts the safety of the civilian population and stability at the front. He emphasized that the European Union must find more effective means to influence Moscow than ordinary phone calls.
“It is not enough just to support the Ukrainian president in phone conversations. The EU must increase pressure on Putin. Only he can immediately put an end to this terrible war. Without pressure, Russia will not change its behavior,” the politician stressed.
It is worth noting that Germany had previously provided Ukraine with the two promised Patriot air defense systems and the ninth IRIS-T system.
This appeal by Nouripour to the German government has become an important signal for the international community, pressing the need to provide military assistance to Ukraine. Currently, the issue of supplying modern weapons remains at the center of attention, as the stability of security in Europe depends on decisive actions to support Ukraine in this difficult time.
