Prices for white cabbage in Ukraine are rapidly increasing, report EastFruit analysts.
This vegetable, which is an important ingredient for borscht, now costs 25-35 hryvnias per kilogram, which is on average 16% more expensive than a week ago.
According to experts, the reason for this increase is the limited supply in the market, as many farmers are holding back their products in hopes of further price increases.
Compared to last year, prices for white cabbage have tripled, and experts predict that this trend will continue.
Prices for essential products in Ukraine have also risen.
