Military Training for Students: Who Will Be Required to Undergo Training from September.
Approximately 75-80 thousand students of higher education institutions in Ukraine will undergo basic military training, said Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi. The program involves the participation of all male second-year students, while female students will be given the right to voluntarily join according to the legislation.
'The theoretical part, which we are preparing for... 170 educational programs have already been developed and submitted for approval to the General Staff in accordance with the current legislation,' Lisovyi emphasized during the hour of questions to the government on Friday in the Verkhovna Rada.
The minister also highlighted that there are financial challenges for implementing the program. Currently, funding is carried out from the reserve of the Ministry of Education, but for 2025 alone, 130 million hryvnias are needed. Lisovyi hopes for additional funds during the review of the state budget.
The theoretical part of military training in higher educational institutions will start on September 1.
