Military Personnel Now Eligible for Medical Board Evaluation Regardless of Service Length: What This Means for Mobilization.
Access to Military Medical Commission Evaluations
According to Novyny.live: Service members are now entitled to undergo a military medical commission (MMC) evaluation no matter how long they have served. If a soldier's health deteriorates, they can submit a formal request to receive a medical assessment. This right is crucial because civilians must pass the MMC before being mobilized. The commission's verdict must state 'fit for military service' for the individual to continue serving.
The MMC Process
Under standard conditions, the entire MMC procedure takes no more than four days. However, if additional tests are needed to determine a person's medical condition, the timeline can extend by up to 3.5 times. Once the evaluation is complete and a decision is reached, the individual receives a mobilization order, which is required for the next steps.
It is worth noting that service members can now submit requests for MMC referrals through the 'Army+' application. According to Vladyslav Deriy, this feature simplifies the paperwork process.
“It’s not just necessary—I strongly recommend doing it, without fail,” said Vyacheslav Kyrdа.This highlights how critical the MMC is for troops who want to remain on active duty and fulfill their responsibilities.
In short, passing the MMC is a vital step for soldiers planning to continue their service, especially those facing health issues. The right to request a medical evaluation, irrespective of service duration, ensures that personnel can obtain a proper health assessment and, if needed, a mobilization order for further duty.
This information underscores the importance of the military medical commission in maintaining troop readiness. Streamlining the request process through the 'Army+' app could boost mobilization efficiency, allowing soldiers to quickly receive medical decisions and complete the necessary procedures. It may also enhance the army's overall combat capability amid modern challenges.
