A loud court hearing took place in Kharkiv, where the case of a serviceman who shared important information about the Armed Forces' equipment in a chat with friends was examined. The man claimed he did not realize the seriousness of his actions.
According to the court's verdict, published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions, the man was accused of disclosing military information.
Case Details
In 2022, the accused joined a chat with five friends who were former military personnel. In February 2023, he noticed military equipment and began disseminating information about its location. It was about a training ground, training center, and other facilities.
During the search, the accused voluntarily handed over his phone and partially admitted guilt. He insisted that he did not provide specific data and sometimes fabricated information.
Chat participants claimed they created the group for communication during the war, as they all had military experience. One of them went abroad, which aroused suspicions of law enforcement regarding possible information disclosure.
Court Ruling
The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison. He has already spent nearly two years of this term in a detention center.
