Payments for IDPs and financial assistance: what will change for Ukrainians from March 1.

Payments for living will be automatically extended for internally displaced persons
From March 1, payments for living for internally displaced persons in Ukraine will be automatically reallocated. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy. Currently, about 1.2 million internally displaced persons receive state financial support in the form of living assistance. This assistance is intended for Ukrainians who left their homes due to the war and need financial help.
Starting from March 1, payments for living will be automatically extended for another 6 months for all internally displaced persons who already receive assistance and meet the established criteria.
The reallocation will occur automatically and without additional requests. Thanks to this, the displaced persons will continue to receive financial support from the state. The amount of assistance is 2000 hryvnias for adults and 3000 hryvnias for children and persons with disabilities.
Internally displaced persons who fall into vulnerable categories or have low incomes will receive living assistance monthly for each family member. For this, their income must not exceed 9444 hryvnias per person per month.
In addition, a new type of support has become available for internally displaced persons who do not receive living payments - a rental subsidy. It is designated for those who left the regions occupied by the Russian Federation or areas of hostilities and do not have their own housing, or whose housing has been destroyed or is unsuitable for living, or who have insufficient funds for renting accommodation, or spend a significant part of their income on rent.
Families of internally displaced persons can choose a support tool that suits them. For example, the rental subsidy may be greater than the living assistance, especially for pensioners with a minimal pension. By using this subsidy, they can receive up to 4000-5000 hryvnias.
Earlier, Ukrainians were explained how to correctly calculate the amount of the rental subsidy for internally displaced persons.
