The owner of a funeral service shares on TikTok about burials and gains millions of views.
A funeral worker from Zaporizhzhia became popular on TikTok
Oleksandr Kuchkov, the owner of a service in Zaporizhzhia, gained popularity on TikTok through his videos. For 5 years, he has been sharing information about the peculiarities and attributes of funerals. Despite filming videos that are less than a minute long, his followers are continually growing. One of his videos, where he shows a coffin, has gained over 6 million views.
Initially, the videos were part of a promotional campaign, but after the content became popular, Oleksandr Kuchkov began analyzing his audience's inquiries and filming videos that satisfy them.
«There were a lot of different questions that we provided answers to. We talked about traditions, dispelled superstitions, and described products,» explains Oleksandr Kuchkov.
Oleksandr has been working in this field for 27 years, so his content is based on his own experience.
«It's strange to understand that this is actually relevant information»; «Very grateful for the clear professional answer»; «Chills down my spine»; «It's incredibly scary» - this is the impression Oleksandr's videos leave on viewers.
Psychotherapist Olena Lisova notes that people actively consume such content as it helps them change their attitude toward death.
According to the specialist, Oleksandr Kuchkov makes death more accessible to people, helping them deal with the unknown in a simple way.
Earlier, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine explained its attitude towards cremation.
The cost of cremation in Kyiv ranges from 4 thousand UAH for a standard service to 9 thousand UAH for an urgent one. The basic package costs 7 thousand UAH and includes standard cremation, the reading of the ritual, a panikhida, an urn, embalming, a farewell hall, and transportation to the crematorium.
