Property tax increased by 22%: where the billions from regional budgets went.
Growth in property tax payments
According to inkorr.com: This year, taxpayers paid 22% more in property taxes compared to the same period last year.
This information was released by the State Tax Service.
According to the service, local budgets received about 8.7 billion UAH, which is 1.6 billion UAH more than in 2022.
Among the regions with high payment rates are:
- Kyiv – 1.74 billion UAH,
- Kyiv region – 0.86 billion UAH,
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 0.84 billion UAH,
- Odesa region – 0.83 billion UAH.
From January to August, 740 thousand taxpayers paid the property tax.
Taxes were paid by individuals who own:
- apartments larger than 60 sq. m;
- houses larger than 120 sq. m;
- other housing, including shares, larger than 180 sq. m.

During the first eight months of this year, property tax payments in Ukraine increased to 8.7 billion UAH. The largest amounts were paid by property owners in Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa regions. Every owner whose apartment or house exceeds the established norm can check their tax notification through a special application or on the website of the State Tax Service.
The increase in property tax payments may indicate an economic recovery and increased activity in the residential real estate market. Taxpayers, in discussing the achieved figures, also emphasize the importance of timely tax payments for financing local budgets and improving the socio-economic situation in the country. This is a positive trend that we hope will continue in the coming years.
