According to Korrespondent.net: Volvo is preparing to present its new electric vehicle - the EX60 crossover, which will debut on January 21. The first teasers have generated significant interest: the new model promises a range that surpasses the results of BMW, Mercedes, and Tesla, and hints at a possible seven-seat configuration of the interior.

Range and Charging

According to Volvo, the EX60 will be able to travel up to 810 km on the WLTP cycle. In comparison, the new BMW iX3 has a range of up to 805 km, the Mercedes GLC with EQ Technology - 713 km, and the Tesla Model Y - 644 km. This figure positions the EX60 among the leaders in the mid-size electric crossover segment.

Charging speed is also impressive: thanks to the 800-volt architecture, the EX60 will be able to replenish its range by 340 km in just 10 minutes. Moreover, the company promises a 10-year warranty on the battery, which is expected to reduce buyers' concerns about long-term use of the electric vehicle.

Design and Technologies

Elements of the model's exterior are gradually revealed in the teasers. At the front, the EX60 is equipped with distinctive LED daytime running lights shaped like a hammer, as well as driver assistance system sensors located under the mirrors.

Technically, the EX60 will be the first Volvo model on the new SPA3 platform, which is an evolution of the SPA2 architecture used in the EX90. The new model will also introduce a new adaptive seatbelt system that uses sensors to determine the height, weight, and build of the passenger, adjusting the belt force in the event of an accident.

Seven-Seat Configuration

Particular attention is drawn to the possibility of a seven-seat configuration. While Volvo has yet to confirm the presence of a third row of seats, images of the trunk suggest the possibility of foldable seats that can be hidden under the floor. Even with the third row folded down, there will likely remain minimal space in the trunk for everyday needs.

The details regarding the equipment, configurations, and pricing of the Volvo EX60 will be revealed by the company during the official premiere on January 21.

This electric vehicle has powerful characteristics, making it a competitor to other major brands in the electric crossover market. The premiere of the EX60 could mark a significant event that will determine Volvo's development in the electric vehicle sector and satisfy consumer expectations for innovative and environmentally friendly transportation.
