According to ТСН: The accession of Ukraine to the European Union by January 1, 2027, mentioned in the latest draft peace plan, is theoretically possible.

This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Taras Kachka, at a press conference.

The official emphasized that, according to the main scenario voiced by the European Commission last fall, Ukraine's accession to the EU was planned for 2030.

Taras Kachka mentioned that it was initially anticipated to complete preparations by 2027 in order to move to final negotiations in 2028, particularly regarding the international treaty on the terms of accession to the EU, which will still need to be ratified.

“These elements — the international treaty, ratification — can definitely be politically shortened, so the more ambitious date being discussed within the framework of the peace plan is also realistic. There are already some understandings on how this calendar can be shortened. It is very theoretical, extraordinarily record-breaking, but possible,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

We recall that earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope for a significant acceleration of Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union.
