On the day the full-scale war began, Vlad Yama was already in Ukraine and helped evacuate his parents from Zaporizhzhia. Later, his family spent some time in Europe before heading to the USA. However, it remains a mystery how the choreographer himself left the country.
Now, along with his wife Liliana and son Leon, the dancer resides in Miami.
On social media, Yama has expressed support for Ukraine and thanked its defenders. Additionally, he often organizes charitable classes and participates in events for the benefit of Ukraine.
However, there have also been scandals. For example, Yama faced a wave of negativity due to images with Russians. It is known that he collaborates with the American dance studio Miami Dance Academy, where there are representatives from the Russian Federation. Furthermore, in November 2024, reports emerged of a party in Chicago attended by many Russian-speaking guests.
