Karolina Myroslavovna Kuiek, known as Ani Lorak, is a Ukrainian singer who represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 and placed second. She lives and works in Russia.

Ani Lorak was born in the small town of Kitsman in the Chernivtsi Oblast. Her parents separated before her birth, and for a time, she was raised in an orphanage. She had three brothers, but her eldest brother Serhiy Lylnkov died in Afghanistan in 1987.

Ani Lorak's career began in 1993 when she won second prize at the 'Pervotsvet' festival. She signed a contract with producer Yuriy Faley. In 1994, she won the international festival 'Veselad' and the 'Dolya' festival. In 1995, she won the 'Morning Star' competition in Moscow and placed second at the Allkazakh festival 'Chervona Ruta'. In 1996, she won the super final of the 'Morning Star' competition in Moscow and released her first CD album 'I Want to Fly'. She also won the Grand Prix of the World Young Performers Contest 'Big Apple Music - 96' in New York. In 1997, Ani Lorak became a laureate of the 'Song-97' festival in Moscow-Kiev and the Grand Prix winner of the Ukrainian President at the Allkazakh festival 'Singing Vernissage-97'. In 1998, she received the title of 'Honored Artist of Israel' and released her second CD album 'I Will Return'. In 1999, she was awarded the title 'Honored Artist of Ukraine'.

Ani Lorak also tried her hand as an actress in films such as 'Gypsy', 'Take the Coat', 'Evenings on a Farm Near Dykanka', and 'Crazy Day or Figaro's Wedding'. She also voiced characters in the Norwegian animated film 'Karlsson on the Roof' and the Estonian animated film 'Lotte from Ingary'.

Ani Lorak is the bearer of numerous awards, including four gold records for the sale of her albums, a winner of various music festivals and ratings. She was awarded the Order of 'St. Stanislaus' for strengthening the international reputation of Ukraine, high creative achievements, charitable activities, and fidelity to knightly ideals.

In the fall of 2018, Ani Lorak became a mentor in the seventh season of the 'The Voice' show on the First Channel of Russia. In 2018, sanctions were also imposed against her. In her personal life, Ani Lorak was known for living in a de facto marriage with her producer Yuriy Faley from 1996 to 2004. She was also married to Murat Nalchadjoglu from 2009 to 2019.

Ani Lorak is a well-known sex symbol and one of the most beautiful women in Ukraine according to 'VIVA' magazine. She is also known for her charitable work and her role as a UN ambassador for HIV/AIDS in Ukraine.
