The new bridge - the highest in the world has passed strength tests

According to The Sun: A new highest bridge has appeared in the world, which has passed strict strength tests before the grand opening.

Dozens of trucks loaded for stress tests were involved to check the reliability of the structure. The testing lasted for five days to confirm the stability and reliability of the bridge.

The bridge, located in the mountainous region of Guizhou in southern China, impresses with its size - its height is nine times that of the Golden Gate in San Francisco.

The height of the bridge is 2000 feet, allowing it to accommodate two Eiffel Towers beneath it.

The bridge will soon be open to traffic as engineers finish the final works. This project started in 2022 and lasted only three and a half years.

The bridge, which rises above the Beipan River, has approximately the same height as China's tallest building - the Shanghai Tower.

Improvements for the residents of the region

The planned opening of the bridge will significantly reduce travel time in the region, allowing residents to avoid exhausting routes through the Guizhou Mountains.

Travel times will be reduced from several hours to just two minutes.

Chen Jianlei, deputy director of the Guizhou Department of Transportation, told China Daily: “The completion of the Guazhang Grand Canyon Bridge will strengthen economic ties between [neighboring cities] Guiyang, Anshun, and Qianxinan, facilitating regional economic integration.”

This bridge is not the only significant project: new large constructions are continuing around the world. For example, work is ongoing on the tallest skyscraper in the world - the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, which will be three times taller than the Burj Khalifa when completed.

The opening of the highest bridge in the world will be an important event for the region, as it will lead to improvements in transportation infrastructure and economic integration of cities. A significant reduction in travel time will simplify the daily trips for residents and stimulate business development in the surrounding administrative units. Overall, this project emphasizes the importance of investing in infrastructure for future economic growth.
