According to Novyny.live: Xiaomi's entry into the electric vehicle market has made a powerful debut with its SU7 sedan. The model, which began sales in early 2026, garnered over 100,000 pre-orders within its first two weeks, signaling a record-breaking level of consumer interest in the tech giant's automotive venture.

Pre-orders opened on January 7, 2026, and the surge in demand has led the company to plan the delivery of approximately 550,000 vehicles throughout the year. This ambitious production target highlights Xiaomi's significant commitment to capturing a share of the competitive EV market.

Specifications and Pricing

The Xiaomi SU7 offers a range of powertrains, with the V6s Plus motor delivering between 320 and 690 horsepower. It boasts a maximum range of up to 902 km (560 miles) on the CLTC cycle. The top-tier version can recover up to 670 km (416 miles) of range with just a 15-minute charge. The starting price for the new EV is $32,500, which translates to an approximate price of 1,367,999 Ukrainian Hryvnia for the base model in Ukraine.

With a 17% growth in EV sales over the previous year, the market continues to expand rapidly. The SU7, with its impressive performance and competitive pricing, is well-positioned to become a major player. Its successful launch in Ukraine, where demand for electric vehicles is accelerating, reflects a broader shift in consumer preferences and growing environmental awareness. This success may encourage other manufacturers to enter the market more aggressively, which would further stimulate the development of essential charging infrastructure.
