Ukraine Electricity Prices Rise from April 1: New Rate Revealed.
Updated Electricity Pricing
According to Novyny.live: Starting April 1, 2026, Ukrainian households will face a new electricity tariff of 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour, as approved by the government under resolution No. 1331. The special obligations mechanism (PSO) will remain in effect at least through the end of April 2026. This adjustment comes amid ongoing economic pressures and rising utility costs in the country.
Importantly, some homes using electric heating may see higher bills after April 30, 2026, when their reduced rate expires. For other consumers, the standard tariff will stay unchanged during this period.
Broader Utility Cost Increases
From February 2025 to February 2026, utility tariffs in Ukraine have already risen by 2.3%, while fees for managing apartment buildings jumped 13.8%. Additionally, from April 1, 2026, Naftogaz customers will pay 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter for gas.
Yulia Svyrydenko remarked that 'it would be a strange decision to raise electricity tariffs while power outages persist.'
This new electricity tariff reflects Ukraine's current economic realities and the broader trend of increasing utility expenses. As some households face potentially higher bills, the government must balance financial obligations with citizens' ability to pay—underscoring the critical need for energy security and stability amid ongoing energy crises.
