Medical Screening for 100 Thousand Ukrainians: What Diseases Are Detected.
Expansion of Medical Screening Network in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: The project 'Support for Efforts to Combat Tuberculosis in Ukraine', funded by the US government and implemented by PATH, has been successfully operating in Ukraine for six years. During this time, a large network of medical screening has been created, covering 12 regions of the country. Chief Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin noted that the project has reached over 100 thousand people.
As part of the program, screenings are conducted not only for tuberculosis but also for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, oncology, and mental disorders. The effectiveness of the project is confirmed by the fact that more than a quarter of those who underwent examinations were referred for additional medical procedures.
Thanks to the project 'Support for Efforts to Combat Tuberculosis in Ukraine', supported by the US government, assistance in the fight against tuberculosis has covered 12 regions. Many Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the opportunity to undergo medical screening as part of this initiative.
This project has become a significant step in the fight against tuberculosis and other diseases in Ukraine. The expansion of screening programs provides the population with access to timely diagnosis and treatment, which can significantly improve public health indicators. Continuing such initiatives will help Ukraine overcome these serious challenges in health care.
