Russia: thousands of deaths due to contaminated water – what is happening.
According to inkorr.com: There is a serious problem with access to clean drinking water in the Russian Federation, negatively impacting the health of the population due to environmental pollution. Every ninth citizen of the country faces difficulties in obtaining quality drinking water. This information was published by the 'Glavkom' website, citing data from the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
According to the Foreign Intelligence Service, last year 11,000 people died from contaminated drinking water in the Russian Federation, and another 1.4 million people fell ill. The most common diseases arising from poor-quality water are diseases of the digestive organs, urogenital system, and skin.
Increase in water pollution levels
Statistics show that the number of cases of significant and high levels of water pollution has increased significantly. Last year alone, 3,095 cases of pollution were recorded in at least 334 water bodies. The most polluted waters are those of the Volga and Ob rivers, as well as the Dnipro, Yenisei, Don, Amur, Neva, and Ural.

In the past year, thousands of cases of death due to water unfit for consumption have been recorded, and the number of water pollution incidents in the country has significantly increased.
The situation regarding access to clean water in Russia raises concerns among the population and specialists. In the context of increasing pollution of water bodies, the need for effective measures to improve water quality is becoming increasingly urgent.
