Protective films for smartphones are losing relevance: why it is no longer necessary.
As reported by 'Hvylya', Gizmochina writes about this.
According to inkorr.com: Smartphones are becoming increasingly durable, reducing the importance of using protective films. Innovative technologies in screen production and the expansion of service offerings turn additional protection into a personal choice rather than a necessity.
Why the film has lost its necessity
Modern phones are equipped with durable glass, such as Gorilla Glass or Ceramic Shield, designed for intensive use. Flagship models have such reliable displays that the need for additional protection has virtually disappeared.
Increased impact resistance
Manufacturers are not only strengthening the screens but also the entire structure of the devices. Some models receive military-grade durability certificates. Thin protective films prove to be ineffective during serious falls, while modern screens are less susceptible to light scratches from items in pockets.
Unobstructed image quality
Protective films can lose their properties over time, becoming dull and scratching worse than factory glass, which negatively affects the quality of content viewing. For drop protection, it is better to use a case with raised edges, although even this need is becoming increasingly less relevant.
Service maintenance and warranties
Manufacturers are actively improving support programs: for example, Apple has AppleCare+, and Samsung has its service. In the event of a screen break, it can be quickly repaired at an affordable price, making the use of films less reasonable.
Earlier, we discussed whether it's safe to use a phone while charging.
Thus, screen protection films for smartphones are losing their relevance. Modern devices have durable screens that provide excellent protection. Manufacturers offer reliable service support programs, which make the use of films optional.
