End of the War: Experts Evaluate the Prospects for Achieving Peace Between Ukraine and Russia.

The conditions for achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine could be as follows:
Successful negotiations in Jeddah between Ukraine and the USA instilled hope for a possible end to the conflict. Although Russia has not yet commented on the situation, a ceasefire supported by Kyiv now seems real. However, achieving even a temporary ceasefire is a difficult task, and the path to long-term peace will be even tougher.
After the unsuccessful meeting between Zelensky and Trump, Ukraine managed to restore productive relations with the American side. In response to Ukraine's agreement to cease hostilities, the USA resumed military supplies and intelligence sharing.
The Ukrainian side positively assesses these arrangements, as a joint statement was published after negotiations in Jeddah that refutes claims about Ukraine's unwillingness to end the war. However, the decision to completely cease fire along the entire front line deviates from Kyiv's position during the first two years of the conflict.
Previously, Ukraine argued its position by stating that any pause in hostilities would allow Moscow to gather forces for new offensives. However, the Ukrainian delegation arrived at the negotiations in Jeddah with a proposal for a limited ceasefire only 'in the air and at sea.'
Russia has not yet commented on a possible ceasefire but stated that it will carefully examine the statements made following the negotiations. Putin previously allowed for a temporary ceasefire at Christmas but expressed skepticism about its duration.
The parties have yet to reach an agreement on security guarantees and peacekeepers. Many EU member states do not support the idea of sending a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine due to internal political contradictions. Russia also opposes this idea, and the USA is unwilling to send its military. A real security guarantee could be an agreement similar to those the USA made with Egypt in 1975 or observers similar to those involved in the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.
It is still too early to say how peace can be achieved, as the parties do not have a unified position. Negotiations and searches for compromise solutions continue. The world is watching the further developments.
