Onion prices in Ukraine continue to rise. As of July 27, producers were selling onions for 10-16 hryvnias per kilogram, which is on average 15% higher than at the beginning of the week. This was reported by analysts from the EastFruit project.

The main reason for the price increase is the reduced supply on the market due to seasonal factors. Many farmers have already sold their stocks, while the harvest of late varieties has not yet begun on a large scale.

Despite the increase, onion prices remain 26% lower than at the end of July 2023. According to the Minfin portal, they are also half as much as last month. In June, the price of onions in supermarkets was an average of 32.92 hryvnias per kilogram, and by the end of July - 14.95 hryvnias per kilogram.

In addition, at the end of July, prices for cheese, bread, and cucumbers increased, while sausage became cheaper.
