Salaries of Ukrainian IT specialists have fallen: who has suffered the most.
According to the DOU portal, Ukrainian IT specialists are facing a decline in median salaries. The total decline is 6%, and the average salary now amounts to approximately 3300 US dollars.
The salary decrease affects almost all specializations, except for developers with more than 10 years of experience. They have maintained their income levels. Specialists who are already Tech Leads now earn approximately 5600 dollars, while Architect-level developers earn 6500 dollars. Senior developers' salaries have decreased to 4500 dollars, while Team Leads remain at 5000 dollars.
The median salary for Middle-level specialists has decreased by 50 dollars to 2450 dollars, after a year of stability. Junior specialists' salaries have also decreased and now stand at 900 dollars.
According to the report, the largest salary decline has been recorded among Architects (-5%), Senior and Junior developers (-4%). 10% of developers earn from 6250 dollars, and 1% earn more than 10,000 dollars.
Overall, a decrease in earnings is observed among specialists with 4–5 years of experience, by 200–300 dollars. However, specialists with more than 10 years of experience still receive a median salary of 5000 dollars.
The salary decline has been recorded in Kyiv and Lviv, while the situation is stable in Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa, and there is a trend towards growth in Vinnytsia.
Product companies remain leaders in salary levels, but their growth has stopped. Compared to outsourcing companies and startups, the decline in outsourcing companies has halted.
The largest decline is observed among the specializations of Back-end, Mobile, and Full Stack, especially among Middle and Senior specialists. Salaries in Desktop and Embedded development remain below the average. Overall, salaries for programming languages have also decreased, except for Scala, which has maintained its leadership.
