New Kia EV2: the most affordable electric car from the brand will receive a powerful GT version.
Kia is preparing to debut the compact crossover EV2, which will become the most affordable electric car from the brand and will receive a sporty GT version. The new model is aimed at the European market and will be produced in Slovakia.
The car will retain the design of the concept presented in February.
EV2 is built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform and will have a 400-volt architecture. The battery is located under the floor, and the long wheelbase will provide a spacious interior. The rear suspension is multi-link, and in the GT version, it will be tuned for dynamic driving.
The base version of EV2 will receive a front electric motor with a power of 150-200 hp, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The GT version will have all-wheel drive and two motors with a total output of 250-300 hp, with acceleration to 'hundred' speeding up to approximately 5 seconds.
It is likely that the car will receive a larger 55 kWh battery from the EV3 model, providing a range of about 435 km.
The premiere is planned for early 2026, with the GT version appearing later.
