Zelensky reacted to the statement of the Baltic Eight: gratitude for support and plans to meet with Trump.
The President expressed gratitude to the leaders of the countries of the Northern Baltic Eight for their support of Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of all the points in the statement they made for achieving sustainable and reliable peace. Zelensky also thanked Donald Trump for the proposal to meet.
In the joint statement, the leaders of the Northern Baltic Eight expressed their support for Ukraine, called for an end to Russian aggression, and demanded the return of kidnapped Ukrainian children to their homeland.
Zelensky believes that the refusal to kill is a key element in ending the war, but Russia rejects calls for a ceasefire. The President believes that much effort must be made for the Russians to live peacefully with their neighbors.
The President already has discussions planned with foreign partners, as well as a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. Zelensky emphasized the importance of leader-level discussions to determine future steps.
It is also worth noting that Zelensky rejected Putin's demand to recognize the Donetsk region as part of the Russian Federation, pointing out the unacceptability of territorial concessions to the aggressor country.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to the countries of the Northern Baltic Eight for their support of Ukraine, thanked Donald Trump for the proposal to meet, and emphasized the importance of cooperation with international partners to address complex issues and achieve peace in the region.
