Ukraine-NATO Council Holds Emergency Meeting in Kyiv

According to Espreso.tv: On June 3, the Ukraine-NATO Council convened in Kyiv to address urgent issues surrounding air defense support and weapons development for Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed participants, highlighting the severe threat posed by Russia, which he stated is capable of manufacturing approximately 120 ballistic missiles every month. This revelation underscores the critical need for continued international assistance to Ukraine. The meeting took place amid escalating hostilities, reinforcing the urgency of bolstering Ukraine's defensive capabilities.

During the session, it was noted that a massive Russian attack on June 2 resulted in the deaths of 23 people in Ukraine. This tragic event further illustrated the gravity of the situation and the pressing requirement to strengthen the country's defense posture.

President Zelenskyy emphasized: 'That is why the key thing we need to do together is to ensure continued support for our air defense.'

NATO Allies Step Up with New Contributions

Six NATO member nations confirmed fresh contributions to the PURL program, demonstrating the Alliance's commitment to backing Ukraine during this challenging period. The decision to establish the Ukraine-NATO Council was originally made at the Alliance's Vilnius Summit in 2023, highlighting the enduring importance of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO member states.

Attendees included the head of NATO's Military Committee, Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, along with permanent representatives and deputy permanent representatives from all 32 Alliance member countries. President Zelenskyy also remarked:

'We raised this issue with the previous U.S. administration and continue to discuss it with the current one.'
