Zelensky Honors Defenders of Ukraine: Among Them is the Legendary Redis from Mariupol.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky honored the warriors of the National Guard, police, State Emergency Service, and border guards. Among them is the defender of Mariupol, Denys Prokopenko with the call sign 'Redis'.
The decree of Zelensky No. 598/2025 regulates the awarding of Denys Prokopenko. The Colonel of the National Guard was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the second degree.
Presentation of Awards to Defenders
The Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the third degree was awarded to ten military personnel of the National Guard:
- Ihor Benzeruk;
- Denys Bortsov;
- Stanislav Zobnev;
- Sviatoslav Kozak;
- Maxym Nechet;
- Bohdan Olijnyk;
- Vasyl Savytskyi;
- Volodymyr Striukov;
- Anton Khvostik;
- Bohdan Tsymbal.
Also, several dozen warriors received 'For Courage' orders of three degrees, most of them posthumously. At the same time, the defenders were also awarded the medals 'For Military Service to Ukraine', 'Defender of the Fatherland', and 'For Saving Life'.
The awards were received for personal courage in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as dedicated service to the people.
During the ceremonial occasion of honoring the warriors, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded dozens of fighters from various military units for courage and dedicated service to the people.
