Zelensky called for determination in countering Russian aggression

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during his participation in the fourth Ukraine-Northern Europe summit, emphasized the importance of determination in countering Russian aggression and called on partners to strengthen support for Ukraine.

The head of state announced this on his social networks on October 28.

"Russian threats of escalation should not weaken our determination. Only determination – truly long-range – will end the war. Not negotiations or someone's secret channels, but determination," the president emphasized.

Ukraine can achieve victory in Eastern Europe

According to Zelensky, there is an opportunity today to achieve victory in Eastern Europe to prevent future conflicts. "Today we have a chance to win in Eastern Europe, so we don't have to fight on the northern or other eastern fronts – in the Baltic countries and Poland, or in the south – in the Balkans," he noted.

Zelensky on Russia's arms buildup

The president also drew attention to Russia's buildup of weapons production. "Next year, Putin intends to equal the EU in ammunition production. We can prevent this only now," Zelensky emphasized.

Plans for joining NATO

Separately, the head of state touched upon Ukraine's accession to NATO. "We are not talking about Ukraine's NATO membership now, during the war. We are only talking about an invitation to join NATO – a political decision that would provide geopolitical clarity for Ukraine and all of Europe," he explained.
