Zelensky will not sign a refusal of territories: what Yermak said

According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will not sign any document that contains a refusal of any part of Ukrainian territory.

This was stated by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak in an interview with journalist Simon Shuster for The Atlantic.

"As long as Zelensky is president, no one should expect that we will refuse any territory. He will not sign a document relinquishing territory. The Constitution prohibits this. No one can do this without going against the Ukrainian Constitution and the Ukrainian people," Yermak emphasized.

Yermak also noted that under the current conditions, no sensible person would take on the responsibility of signing an agreement that involves the transfer of part of Ukrainian land.

Negotiations on the war

The head of the OP outlined Ukraine's position ahead of the next stage of negotiations regarding the cessation of hostilities. According to him, Zelensky intends to draw a clear "red line" on the most sensitive issue — the Russian demands regarding Ukrainian territories.

"Regarding the issue of land, Ukraine is ready to discuss only where the line should be drawn to delineate what is controlled by the warring parties. Everything we can actually talk about right now is determining the line of confrontation. And that's what we need to do," Yermak added.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian and American delegations would continue their joint work at the end of this week to define steps to end the war.

A source in Western diplomacy informed that Russia will begin to offer real concessions only at the final stage of the negotiation process.

Andriy Yermak's statements underline Ukraine's determination to maintain its territorial integrity in difficult times. The position of the president and his team remains unchanged despite pressure from the adversary. It also highlights the importance of international support and further negotiations to stabilize the situation in the region.
