President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The parties discussed the full-scale war in Ukraine. The head of state reported this on Telegram.

'I spoke with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Ukraine and Germany both see the necessity to end the war as soon as possible with a dignified peace, and the parameters for ending this war will determine the security conditions for Europe for decades to come.'

The war is indeed in Europe, and Ukraine is an integral part of Europe; we are already in negotiations regarding our accession to the European Union. Therefore, Europe must be a participant in the relevant processes.'

Zelensky also added that during the conversation with the chancellor, they were able to coordinate positions with Germany. He agreed to talk again with Friedrich. An online meeting was also agreed upon to align the views between Ukraine, Europe, and the United States. Additionally, various formats of meetings for peace at the leaders' level were discussed.

'Ukraine is not afraid of meetings and expects the same courageous approach from the Russian side. It's time to end the war. Thank you to everyone who is helping.'

During the phone conversation between the president of Ukraine and the German chancellor, the necessity of ending the war in Ukraine was discussed with the aim of ensuring security in Europe for decades. Zelensky also expressed hope for the development of cooperation and plans to hold an online meeting to align positions between Ukraine, Europe, and the United States.
