Presidential Dialogue Between Ukraine and the United States

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has detailed the outcomes of a call with former U.S. President Donald Trump. The discussion centered on the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) and preparations for upcoming bilateral meetings in Geneva. Trump's representatives, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, also participated in the conversation.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian teams are now actively engaged in negotiation efforts.

"I thanked him for all the efforts and such engagement in the negotiations, in the work to end the war," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian President also emphasized that this winter is the most difficult for Ukraine. Consequently, he stressed the critical importance of receiving air defense system missiles from the United States, which 'greatly help in navigating all these challenges and protecting lives.'

U.S. Backing and Future Plans

Zelenskyy reported that President Trump supports the proposed sequence of steps.

"Only this way can we resolve all the complex and sensitive issues and finally end the war," Volodymyr Zelenskyy remarked.
A trilateral meeting of negotiation teams is scheduled for early March, with a separate bilateral meeting between U.S. and Ukrainian representatives to be held in Geneva. This diplomatic engagement comes at a pivotal moment for Ukraine's security, as international support remains crucial for its defense.

The conversation between the two leaders is significant for the future of Ukraine-U.S. relations, particularly amid heightened military threats. U.S. support in the form of military aid, especially for air defense, could substantially impact Ukraine's capacity to counter external challenges. The forthcoming meeting in Geneva may serve as a key step in strengthening bilateral ties and addressing the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.
